EIC STEP Scale Up — Growth Financing for Europe's Strategic Technologies.

STEP Scale Up is the EIC instrument designed for European scale-ups in strategic technology areas — Digital, Clean and Biotech — with larger ticket sizes than the standard EIC Accelerator and an explicit sovereignty lens.

European scale-ups with deployed technology, proven traction and the ambition to defend or build European leadership in strategic technology domains.

Section 02

Ticket sizes and instrument logic

Larger equity tickets than the EIC Accelerator, structured to crowd in private capital and accelerate European scale-up trajectories.

Section 03

Strategic technology areas

Digital and Deep Tech (AI, semiconductors, quantum, cybersecurity), Clean technologies (energy, materials, mobility) and Biotechnology with European sovereignty relevance.

Section 04

How STEP relates to the EIC Accelerator

Companies often move from Accelerator-stage support to STEP-stage growth financing as they scale. Both programmes share the EIC philosophy of co-investing with private capital.
